A semi-gantry crane is a type of crane between a bridge crane and a gantry crane. A semi-gantry crane has only one leg, and the other end of the crane is mounted on the crane beam of the factory building like a bridge crane. The running track mounted on the factory building is commonly known as the sky track, and the running track on the ground is known as the ground track. The lifting mechanism, trolley running mechanism and bridge structure of a semi-gantry crane are basically the same as those of a bridge crane. Due to the large span, the crane running mechanism mostly adopts a separate drive mode to prevent the crane from running crookedly and increasing resistance. It is equipped with a wind meter and a crane rail clamp interlocked with the running mechanism. Semi-gantry cranes are generally electric hoist type, so the rated lifting capacity is usually less than 16 tons.

When the product is operating in ports and other places, the wind force should be estimated. When selecting equipment, the impact of wind force on MG gantry cranes should be fully considered, and basic measures such as wind and flood prevention should be taken in time.
Users need to undergo rigorous practical training before they can carry out operations. They must regularly inspect and protect basic hardware equipment such as product wire ropes, electric hoists, cables, etc., identify problems in a timely manner, and maintain or replace new accessories.
