(1) Adopting "four-drum" combined drive technology
In terms of overall design, the new RTG adopts four sets of wire rope drum devices, which rely on the forward and reverse rotation of the drum to retract and release the wire rope to achieve the lifting and lateral movement of the cargo. The drive device and drum are installed on the bottom beam of the gantry. Compared with the general RTG (the lifting and trolley running mechanisms are both set on the trolley), the trolley mass and the center of gravity of the whole machine are greatly reduced, the whole machine structure is optimized, and the weight of the whole machine is lightened.
(2) Adopting electric drive
The general RTG is powered by a diesel generator set. Since the system load is variable and nonlinear, when the general RTG is lightly loaded, the diesel engine is running at a partial load at the rated speed, and the diesel generator set is less efficient. According to statistics, after the general RTG engine is started, the time used for loading and unloading operations is less than 50%, and the rest of the time is idle consumption. A general RTG consumes about 15 liters of diesel per hour. The new RTG working motor and lighting are powered by mains electricity, and only a small-power diesel-electric generator set is equipped for transfer, meeting the mobility requirements of RTG.
(3) Electric drive control
The electric RTG adopts variable frequency speed regulation, programmable controller (PLC) and field bus control to form an electric drive control system to achieve integrated speed regulation and control. The main control units of the whole machine are connected to the bus in the form of nodes to realize digital signal communication, which is fast and accurate. At the same time, a large number of signal lines between the control units are saved, the hardware system is simplified, and the cost is reduced.
